The ideals behind the Freecycle Network are noble and geared towards helping the planet. They have thousands of groups with millions of members across the globe, but they have been facing the loss of members and groups left right and center (Most notably in the UK where Freegle has sprung up in the upheaval). Many have accused Deron Beal of trying to stifle the community, and others compare his opposition to change to Craig Newmark of Craigslist. Most agree though, the biggest issue with Freecycle is option.
Success Story #13 – Rowing Machine

Tis the season of failed resolutions. Gym memberships lapse almost before they have started, and newly purchased exercise equipment begins collecting dust. We always start out with the best intentions, but so many of us get caught up with other things and drop the ball. So when he wanted to get a rowing machine, Sean decided to post a Wish in hopes of finding one that had been sacrificed to the dust bunnies.

By February, a majority of them have forgotten their resolutions and life is back to normal. This year, set yourself some goals that you can actually implement, be a better neighbor, be a better tenant on earth.
Our ‘Buy Nothing Christmas’

While many Christians still celebrate Christmas as the birthday of Jesus, the rest of the world has been sucked into the consumerist holiday that infects our lives like a plague, starting on November 1st. The holiday season has been poisoned by mass consumption and greed. While millions of people suffer, barely able to eat, local children are throwing temper tantrums because they didn’t get the latest *INSERT TOY OF THE YEAR HERE* in their stocking.
